Music, Science, and Computers
Exploration of the interactions among music, science, and technology, including the history and current development of science and technology from the perspective of music. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Understand the relationship between science and music. 2. Appreciate the role that machines have in sound generation. 3. Talk about the importance of hearing, mental frameworks, and engineering in music. 4. Give examples of composers who have made important contributions in this area. 5. Create simple musical compositions using computers.
